So last week, Apple unleashed their latest creation onto all citizens of cyberworld – the iPad. LeftRight Studios is proud to announce that smackBOTS, our top 100 app for the iPhone, is officially iPad’ed!
The founders of Pittsburgh-based LeftRight Studios, a mobile game developer, are celebrating the quick, but not altogether unexpected, success of their iPhone game smackBOTS…Based on the classic game Rock’em Sock’em Robots, smackBOTS takes the robot boxing ring digital. The game was released over the summer, around the time the small studio started, and now sits in the No. 92 spot for top free application downloads. It is No. 42 on the top free games list, No. 16 among top free action games and No. 2 among top free kids games. According to Apple, the App Store has 100,000 applications available.
In the AlphaLab offices on East Carson Street, there is something infectious in the air — optimism. Geraldine Yong, CEO of LeftRight Studios, says starting a tech company during a recession is tough, but has its upside, too. – Pittsburgh Business Times

At the Apple WWDC 2009, our very own Director of Business Development (now CEO) Geraldine was spotted “smackbotting” with Steve Wozniak, Apple cofounder and Dancing with the Stars Celebrity Dancer. This interesting photo was coincidentally captured by NBC News Photographer Jeremy Carroll! A picture speaks a million words…check out the article for yourself!
